Sable Point
aa B_ cchl_ D_ ee (brown eyes)
The chinchilla genotype aa B_ cchd_ D_ ee produces a darker color which is sometimes called seal point or sallander.

The sable point has sepia brown ears, feet, tail and face mask.  The body color fades to a very light cream color.  Heavy shading on the body is generally faulted.  Pure white body, belly or under tail may disqualified in some breeds. Eyes are brown and may show a ruby glow (especially those carrying the REW gene). Watch for blue-gray eyes in the sable point (disqualification - these are "blue point" aka "pewter point").  Also watch for tan pattern markings on sable points (disqualification - sable point marten).

ARBA breeds that accept the sable point variety are as follows:
Amercian Fuzzy Lop -
(Sable Point) Shown as "Solid" - Disqualify for another color other than sepia.
English, French and Satin Angora - (Pearl) Shown as "Colored" - Disqualify for pure-white body wool.
Holland Lop - (Sable Point) - Shown as "Solid"
Jersey Wooly - (Sable Point) - Shown as "Shaded" - Disqualify for pure-white body wool or white under tail.
French, Mini, English Lop - (Sable Point) Shown as "Colored"
Mini Rex - (Sable Point accepted 2-1-07) - Shown by variety - Disqualify for white under tail.
Netherland Dwarf - (Sable Point) - Shown by variety, then by shaded group. - Disqualify for white under tail.
Satin - (Siamese) - Shown by variety - Disqualify for blue or lilac.  These lighter "Sable Point" Satins are not uncommon on the show table, although the Standard calls for a medium brown body.
