Pink Eyed Dilute
(Lutino)
pink eyes pp
The pink eyed dilute rabbit has been recently introduced into the United States by Bob Whitman.  This unusual recessive mutation was previously unknown in the USA.  The action of the gene partially dilutes coat color, and dilutes eye color to pink.  This gene is common in many rodents such as hamsters.  The gene locus is "P" and the recessive mutation is known as "pp".
